Fire Prevention
Services
Protecting What Matters Most—Your Home, Your Family, Your Peace of Mind. We believe fire should bring comfort—not concern.
Why Prevention
Matters
Even the coziest fire can become a hazard if your system isn’t properly maintained. Ignored maintenance is the leading cause of residential chimney fires in Oklahoma.
Creosote Buildup: A highly flammable byproduct of wood smoke that can ignite within the flue.
Structural Failure: Cracked masonry or damaged liners allow heat to reach combustible house framing.
Silent Killers: Blocked vents or improper airflow can lead to Carbon Monoxide exposure.
The Danger of “Stage 3” Creosote
Did you know creosote has three stages? Stage 3 is a thick, waxy glaze that is incredibly difficult to remove and acts like “fuel on a torch.” Standard sweeping won’t fix it—it requires professional chemical treatment or mechanical scaling.
Don’t wait until you see the glaze. Prevention is the only cure.

Fire Safety Starts At Home
Tip 01: Fuel Choice
Burn only seasoned hardwood. Never burn trash, treated wood, or cardboard, as these create extreme heat and rapid creosote buildup.
Tip 02: Clear Space
Keep flammable items (rugs, furniture, decorations) at least 3 feet away from the fireplace at all times.
Tip 03: Early Warning
Install Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detectors on every level of your home and test them monthly.
Safety Checklist
- Schedule inspection before the first fire of the season.
- Never leave a fire unattended in the hearth.
- Ensure your chimney cap is secure to prevent animal nesting.
- Use a spark screen or glass doors when burning.
